APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME

We have been running our Apprenticeship Scheme for over 30 years and are proud to have won National Employer of the Year for Small Businesses and Platinum Award for Excellence in Training for the last five consecutive years.

Creating a legacy of makers and making.

Our scheme is available to young people who live locally aged from 16 years upwards and is run in conjunction with West Berkshire Training Consortium (WBTC) and Ryecotewood Furniture Centre at the City of Oxford College.

Apprenticeship Scheme

For us it’s simple: investing in new, raw talent means investing in the future of our business. From day one, our apprentices are given a full development schedule. We get them working straight away on special projects as well as live jobs, giving them the confidence to develop their skills alongside some of the country’s best makers.

Our apprentices study for 3-4 years for City & Guilds Intermediate & Advanced Apprenticeships & NVQ Levels 2 & 3. Their time is split between our workshop and college.

The training includes gaining experience in all areas of our workshop – hand shop, spray shop, metalwork shop, timber mill, and warehouse, under the guidance of our senior makers and managers, many of whom started as an apprentice themselves.

We usually offer two placements each year subject to students carrying out a one month trial in our workshop. For more details download our brochure.
