Case Western Reserve University

Ohio, USA

One of our biggest projects ever, we made and shipped over 500 pieces of furniture for the Foster + Partners designed Cleveland Clinic Health Education Campus at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio.

The bespoke pieces of furniture – an extension of our OVO collection – were specifically adapted to the functions and spaces of the new building.

The soft geometry of the OVO Collection is welcoming and tactile and has been used to full advantage to create spaces that bring people together to encourage creativity and collaboration.

The rectilinear tables have been scaled up in proportion to the large volume of the courtyard and given rounded ends to encourage both collaborative and individual work. At 5.3 metres in length, the tables have an integrated lighting panel in the centre and are easily dismantled to be reconfigured for a wide range of events.

Our OVO Planters with integrated curved benches were used to create a tree lined avenue through the atrium.  These can be easily taken apart to maintain the trees.

We also made bespoke furniture pieces for the library, meeting rooms, deans’ suites and other working spaces.  The warm, timeless nature of the oak and leather materials aid acoustics and create a sense of wellbeing, reinforcing the building’s pioneering purpose to create better healthcare for all.

OVO side tables and coffee tables were scattered throughout the building to create informal break-out areas.
