Smile Stool
Designed By Jaime Hayon
The Smile Stool, designed by Jaime Hayon is a joyful and expressive piece. The soft geometry of the seat and gently curved profile of the underside invites touch. The playful ‘Smile’ doubles as the stool’s carrying handle, while the natural grain of the Cherry wood adds to the character and expressive design of the face. Its four legs are hand turned, with two passing through the seat to form the eyes, using traditional expressed-through tenon joints.

Connected
Made Together Apart
Jaime first developed the Smile Stool for Connected; an exhibition challenging nine international designers to create furniture to suit their new ways of working from and living at home, following the onset of Covid-19. Each designer was paired with a craftsman in our workshop, relying solely on digital communication and video conferencing to develop their pieces and bring their visions to life. Find out more >
